Catchy New Americana-Rock-Country Anthem from Aimee Francis

Indie Artist

Americana-rock-country artist Aimee Francis is back with her new single, ‘Seventeen’, written about a 6-week stint in Los Angeles with her best friends, whiskey and her fake ID.

With ‘Seventeen’, Aimee has gone back to the start. ‘” wrote Seventeen about my teenage years time spent in America. About a year after living there, my band and I went back for six weeks. We played shows, we saw shows and we drank the bars dry. It was three best friends playing music and having the time of our lives.”

She has also gone back to writing for herself.  “As a songwriter, it’s quite easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing, what seems to be ‘working’ on radio and trying to fit a certain mould. I got tired of it, bought a record player and listened to my favorites non-stop and wrote what I felt – that’s how Seventeen came about.”

You can hear her Tom Petty influences in the slide guitar, The Eagles in the harmonies and a Faces-esque bass and drum combo.

Aimee flew to LA last year to record with long time friend Shane Soloski at Blue Suede Studios. “We’d played shows together and spent many a night listening to Johnny Cash in his car, but it took us 10 years to finally get into the studio together to write and record!”

Sannia’s Two super cool New Singles With A voice To Match

Pop SingerJust over 12 months ago now, Melbourne indie-pop artist, Sannia released her debut single and video, Go And Get Over, and now Sannia is back with not one but two very cool new singles, Daylight & Better.

Daylight opens the window into Sannia’s heart and mind, with pulsing, nostalgic synths, and expressive, relatable lyrics woven amongst gentle guitar.  The story is familiar – unrequited love, not for a stranger but for a close friend.  The clip is striking even from the opening shot – a damaged car in a vast, open pasture, a fire smoking out, and Sannia, a little bruised, lying in the front seat in a glorious red dress.

Stream: DAYLIGHT   Watch: DAYLIGHT Below

Better picks up where Daylight leaves off; the dust has settled on the relationship, and Sannia begins to believe in getting better, if only for herself.  A distinctive, swooping synth and an industrial-style drum loop moves this track into a modern, electronic space, while Sannia’s gorgeous vocals, evocative of both Meg Mac and Vera Blue, make this song distinctly hers.  The emotive clip features two lovers, dancing in a sunlit, empty house, then in a field at dawn or dusk…and then, they are apart.

Stream: BETTER   Watch: BETTER Below

Sannia is also playing two launch shows for these stunning tunes, one in Melbourne and the other in Sydney.

Alternative rockers Black Income are back with new album ‘unSOUND’

Rock Band

It’s been 3 years since alternative rockers Black Income released their debut album ‘Noise Pollution’, which saw them tour Europe, playing festivals and opening for bands such as Exumer, Bullet and Tigers of Pan Tang and receiving over 1 million streams across all major platforms.

In 2017 Grammy Award Winning Bass player, and longtime friend Michael Gersdorff joined the band, and now, with their strongest lineup to date, and after months in the studio, they are back and have just released their latest album ‘unSOUND’  on August 23rd via Tube IT Records.

The new album, containing 9 hard hitting, dynamic tracks, was recorded at Medley Studios, Copenhagen with Soren Andersen and also Tube IT Studios in Denmark where it was Produced, Mixed and Mastered by vocalist Henrik Thrane. It continues where the first album left off,and according to the band, is a more organic sounding album than the last.

The inspiration for unSOUND, says vocalist Henrik “is everything around us. The band wanted to take on the unsafe and unsure structure of the world today, and it’s safe to say everybody has something to deal with every day; but with a world on fire and close to collapsing, things really get put into perspective, and a lot of decisions have to be made by the people of power”.

“It’s been a wild ride, we really wanted to leave a mark and we worked hard on developing our unique sound that everyone was so fond of on our debut album, we wanted to do a more organic and open sound on this one.”

UnSOUND is will be available on limited edition yellow vinyl and all major platforms.

Innes Wilson Approaches His Songwriting As An Exploration Of Sound

Indie Artist

A quiet and modest artist, Innes writes and creates music prolifically in his Guelph, Ontario home. Most often, the tenor guitar and harmonica provide the foundation for his music, which is layered with his rich, dynamic vocals. Innes approaches his songwriting as an exploration of sound, preferring not to be confined by any particular genre or mould.

His songs and performance take the audience through a landscape of emotions using descriptive lyrics that he has so carefully crafted. Not content with a single medium, Innes also works in block printing, water colour painting, and photography – all of which are inspired by his avid exploration of backcountry wilderness and a love of ornithology.

Originally from Vancouver, BC Innes Wilson is based in Guelph, Ontario and has been writing and performing music since 1999. His band, Innes Wilson & his Opposition were DIY pioneers in the turbulent music scene of the early 2000’s, forging touring routes, new publicity methods, and handmade silkscreen merchandise for their label Out of Sound Records. They released two critically acclaimed records between 2007 and 2011, earning regular airplay on CBC Radio 3 and a CBC Bucky Award nomination.

Innes then took a 6 year hiatus and returned in 2017 with the subsequent release of several new records: Bedford Hills (produced by Adam Warren), Northumberland Slums (self-produced), and Seaview EP, which featured the talented members of WHOOP-Szo as his backing band. With each release, Innes Wilson has received praise and radio airplay across the country.

His albums have charted locally and nationally at college & community stations, with Northumberland Slums reaching #1 on !earshot’s National Folk Chart in 2018.

Innes approaches his songwriting as an exploration of sound, preferring not to be confined by any particular genre or mould. His new album, The Heart That Holds This Up, is out now!

Crooked Ghost’s New Single Gives US A Taste Of Things To Come

Rock Band

With a new intriguing melancholic offering, post-punks Crooked Ghost present their new single

‘Sinew in Red’ , the first taste from their forthcoming album ‘Colors Bleed’.

This is a sleek and sultry track about self-obsession and dirty secrets.

“Sinew in Red was written in response to trauma, but to me, there’s a lot of strength and empowerment in this song. It also touches upon things like vanity and lust… It’s essentially about being in the closet and having a dirty secret no one is supposed to know, but you ratted yourself out,” says Ray Lark.

‘Colors Bleed’ is the third release from Asheville, North Carolina-based collective, following on the heels of their  ‘Skeleton House’ album, released in February 2019 on limited edition 12″ colored vinyl. These four new songs see the Ghosts moving in a more colorful direction. The songs are bigger and brighter than those before, with dreamy melodies, and some of Crooked Ghost’s most honest lyrics to date.

This EP was recorded in Black Mountain, NC by longtime friend and producer Edward Madill. The EP itself was inspired by mental illness and the struggles of growing up LGBTQ in a not-so-accepting world.

Formed in 2013 by Ray Lark, Crooked Ghost was initially a channel for leftover songs that didn’t seem to fit in any of the other bands he was involved in, but quickly became the focal point of Ray’s creative energy. Today Crooked Ghost is Ray Lark (guitar, vocals), Chris Saldin (bass), Alex Cannon (keyboard), Jon Wyatt (drums) and Charles Reed (guitar).

The band released their debut LP ‘Strange Burial Rituals’  in March 2017. With two distinct halves (the first is lighter, the second darker), the album plays out like a story, or rather, two opposite stories that are intertwined. Their most recent videos are for‘Roadkill’ and ‘Sleepwalker’

‘Sinew in Red’ releases on August 23. The full ‘Colors Bleed’ EP will be released on September 20 on limited edition CD through the band’s own imprint, and will be available digitally across platforms such as

Union Duke’s New Single ‘123’ A Desperate Act Of Escapism: Whiskey & Sleeping In

Indie Band

Union Duke’s latest single, “123,” is a tune about modern apathy.
“The original plan was to write a balls-to-the-wall drinking diddy with shades of psychedelia and no social commentary – apparently, we’re too jaded for that now.”

Pretty quickly, it turned into a song about being young and getting drunk as a desperate act of escapism. “123” is basically Brave New World: The Song.
Instead of soma, it’s whiskey and sleeping in.

Jeff Hazin produced the track between his own studio and Toronto’s Taurus Recording.
You can hear Alan Zemaitis featured on the organ.

In the two years since our last record,

Golden Days , we’ve been steadily travelling and unravelling across the country. Now, we’re ready to share our lessons learned.

Keep your ears, eyes and hearts peeled for even more new songs of love, distance, heartache and revelry over the coming months.

The Bobby Tenderloin Universe; One Of legends, mystical death, a sacred transfer, a cosmic continuum…’That’s All I’m Sayin’

Country Music Artist

Well, some may say that the legend of Bobby Tenderloin begins much like every other legendary story you have ever heard. Others may say that the magic is in the details.

One thing is for certain, The Bobby Tenderloin Universe is a place where mishaps become miracles, & dreams come true.

The legend begins on a fateful day in March, not so long ago, where a new universe was born, that saw the birth of Bobby Tenderloin & the passing of a preacher, who was a husband to a ragtime pianist, & grandfather to none other than, Bobby Tenderloin.

Legend says that on that day, the spirit of the preacher was passed onto Bobby Tenderloin, as his devotion to lifting people & expressing words of unconditional love through music, was noted at a young age. This was the foundation of the profound bond formed between Bobby Tenderloin & his grandmother, as hours, days & eventually years were spent, side by side, in front of ivory keys. An ancient craft of artistry & music was passed to Bobby Tenderloin.

The story of Bobby Tenderloin is one of legends, mystical death, a sacred transfer, a cosmic continuum, & is written in the stars & hearts of every being that ever was, is or will be.

Welcome to the universe…

Jane’s Party Releases Hypnotic Reimagined Single Ft. Sky Wallace

Alternative Band

Toronto-based pop-rock quartet Jane’s Party – comprised of Devon Richardson, Tom Ionescu, Jeff Giles, and Zach Sutton – have just released a reimagined version of their single “Straight from the Heart” featuring Skye Wallace.

This version of the song explores love, both the exciting and mundane, and the compromise and empathy needed to sustain any relationship. Skye Wallace is featured on this recording, providing sublime vocals, as both a lead singer and in harmony with Jane’s Party. The duet strives to evoke the feeling one gets knowing that the little things in a relationship are ultimately there to teach us about the importance of love and partnership.

The original track of ‘Straight From The Heart’ can be heard on Jane’s Party Album “Casual Island”. Casual Island began as a set of home studio demos inspired by Jane’s Party’s experience supporting Tom Odell’s “No Bad Days” tour across Europe in 2016. After returning home the band immediately called up producer Derek Hoffman (The Trews, Arkells, Elwins, Willa), and set up what would become the “Casual Island” sessions.

Bassist/singer Devon Richardson says, “Derek is absolutely brilliant at taking what’s initially unique and captivating about a musical idea and amplifying it a million times over”. “So much of what made the final recordings came right from the original demos [not far removed from Tom Odell’s own recording process]”, says guitarist/singer Tom Ionescu.

“This album feels very personal to us, like we’re sharing that initial intimate experience when you’re first coming up with the song and recording it in your bedroom”, says keyboardist/singer Jeff Giles.

The album features collaborations with DJ Skratch Bastid, Leland Whitty (badbadnotgood), Kirty and Matt Angus (Fast Romantics).

Drummer Zach Sutton says, “for the four of us, writing and recording music has always been a collaborative process. Bringing in Skratch, Leland and Kirty is our way of expanding the family and getting fresh creative juices into the mix. Every collaboration has been a huge source of inspiration that challenges the way we approach music making”.

Jane’s Party has shared stages with the likes of Arkells, LIGHTS, Blue Rodeo, Stars, The Trews, Sam Roberts Band, Lowest of The Low, Matt Mays, Tom Odell, Manic Street Preachers, and Lord Huron.

There’s Little That’s ‘Not Right’ With Fonzie

Making his appearance just a year ago, Fonzie could easily be regarded as a relative newcomer to the UK Rap scene but with his determination, work ethic and unquestionable talents, the rising star is ticking off benchmarks faster than most and catapulting his sound in to the stratosphere.

Teaming up with producer RNDM, ‘Not Right’ is the latest release from Fonzie. Featuring the left-leaning sonics that have become synonymous to his sound, the track lyrically lends as an intro to those that haven’t come across him before as he begins to build a picture of himself over the last year and how he treads the line between music and the ties he has to the road. As is the case with many rappers on their road to stardom, the space between choosing a full time music career and leaving the roads behind is littered with draw outs, ties and the constant call of money – it is this space that Fonzie lyrically delves in to.

Having peppered the scene with numerous joints throughout 2018 he racked up an impressive 300,000 streams and reeled in support across Beats 1, Spotify (Certi Playlist), Capital Xtra, BBC Radio 1Xtra, was nominated for a MOBO Unsung Award. Keeping all fires at 100, Fonzie has stepped in to 2019 with even more to prove and following the drop of ‘Pop Up’, which was celebrated and supported widely, he then sold out the Islington O2 Academy for his debut show.

Now launching his own label ‘Noir’ via Absolute Label Services, which sees him join a star-studded roster that includes Krept & Konan, 67, Dappy, Yungen and Ay Em, Fonzie debuts his first label release ‘Not Right’.

Terouz, ‘outstanding’ is Cinematic Storytelling on A Treadmill

Indie Singer

Life as you know it takes a darker shade, when you loose a loving parent.
As if a grey, film-thin veil has been dropped in front of your eye sight. Your entire existence is shaken.

It was that massive emotional blow that saw me re-emerge as the hypnotic, noir TEROUZ.

Terouz first single is an ode to his journey of renewal. “It documents a major growth spurt of self-acceptance, letting go, going for it, forgiveness and deep love, not to mention tons of hysterical and sombre sarcasm – my life experience steeped in loss, pain, and fierce reality checks. All of this led me to wisdom, strength, love, and a deep appreciation for good old, consistent groove. Outstanding documents this cycle.”

Last year felt like a never ending s#%t storm.
With the shadow of my father’s passing laying over me, my musical aspirations were hitting a wall with my band and I was pretty close to pulling the plug on it all. I stopped everything to take care of myself. I dove deep into writing, belted out (in despair!) improvised vocal lines to recorded melodies while running up and down the Mont Royal…everyday, like an obsessed work-out maniac. I focused on getting clear.

Outstanding” was born; an empowering Rocky-esque anthem that speaks to the excitement and surge of energy I feel towards being back!

I hope this song serves as a source of inspiration to anyone going through hard times.

They never last. Know that things will get better.

UK electronic stalwarts Nature of Wires announce new ‘Modus’ album

Electronic Band

British synthpop stalwarts Nature of Wires have announced their new double album ‘Modus’, to be released today, August 16 via Manchester’s  Analogue Trash label. Comprising 18 tracks, this is 80s-influenced synthpop with a dark edge. The album had its genesis in the late 80s and early 90s, when the band were in the middle of a creative hot streak.

Ahead of the album’s release, Nature of Wires are whetting our appetites with the 2-track single ‘Madame Serena’, featuring a remix by electronic body music and electro-industrial artist Leaether Strip, and two additional tracks: ‘Every Single Sun’ and the remix of ‘First Light’ by European electronic giants Mesh.

Nature of Wires was formed in 1986 in Herefordshire. The original line-up was Gary Watts (synths & programming) and Andrew Stirling-Brown (vocals). The band went on hiatus in 1994 until reforming in 2015. In 2016, they released ‘Cyber Rendezvous’ with California’s CountessM on lead vocals, their first album since 1993’s ‘Modus Operandi’. The band’s live shows were enhanced by the addition of Tim Powell-Tuck on electronic drums, with a UK tour and BBC appearances.

“Modus has been 33 years in the making and includes songs written between 1986 and 1993, recreated using 21st century technology.  We want to look back on this album in 20 years’ time and be satisfied that it is as good as possible,” says Gary Watts.

“So we’ve involved some top producers – namely Steve Whitfield (The Cure, The Mission, Shed Seven, Terrorvision, Jah Wobble) and  Mike Marsh  (Calvin Harris, OMD, Human League, Chemical Brothers, Moby, Shamen, Massive Attack, Erasure, 808 State, The Prodigy, Depeche Mode). Artwork is by the super-talented  Vlad McNeally.  This is our final farewell to our younger years, representatives of the sound we created back then”.

CD1 features 8 original tracks, forged during a time of personal and musical change, and with striking clarity in this music and lyrics. But now, with access to top of the line music technology, Nature of Wires have refined and reinterpreted the inner soul and meaning of each song to create something that reflects an exciting time in the history of electronica and dance music, while also holding its own in the modern synthpop scene.

On CD2, Nature of Wires curated re-imaginings of tracks on CD1, offered by alternative electronic heavyweights Leaether Strip and Mesh, UK post-punk buzzband Klammer, and label-mates Room 1985, The Cowls and AtomZero. Applying their own vision whilst being faithful to the spirit of the originals, they’ve each re-interpreted the tracks in their own impeccable styles, adding to the sense of history that underpins ‘Modus’.

There’s a sense of finality to ‘Modus’, as well as a statement of intent for the rebirth of Nature of Wires, coming to terms with the past in a glorious and positive fashion, and preparing for an exciting future.

“CD1 presents the retro-electro, ‘lighter’ side of our writing, influenced by the synth-pop of the 80’s & 90s scenes. A ‘definitive’ version of the material we had back then, but with a modern edge. It brings together the core of our older fan-favourites and the very first song we wrote and one left unfinished in 1993, finally completed over 20 years later! We envisioned CD2 not just as a collection of remixes, but a deliberate companion or twin to ‘Modus’. This is not a double album; it’s a dual album,” says Andrew Stirling-Brown.

Nature of Wires has appeared with many great electronic artists, including Empathy Test, Leaether Strip, Aesthetic Perfection, Lord of the Lost, The Frixion, Rodney Cromwell and Vieon. They also created remixes for the likes of Massive Ego, Leaether Strip, Sigue Sigue Sputnik Electronic, !distain, Precog, Advance, Freakangel, Machine Rox and Vogon Poetry.

On August 16, the ‘Modus’ LP will be released everywhere digitally and as a 2CD digipak. The album can be pre-ordered via BandcampAlready now, the single ‘Madame Serena’ is also available. Nature of Wires will be touring the UK from late July to November.
