Indie Emo Band Pointless Releases New Single Half Empty

Indie Emo Band Pointless Releases New Single Half Empty

Indie Rock Band

Pointless is a 4 piece indie/emo band from Gloucester and Camden counties, NJ. Since 2017, the band has released two EPs, Dust (2017), Glow (2018), as well as two singles, “No Chances” (2019), and their newest release “Half Empty” which is streaming everywhere.

All music written by Pointless has been engineered and produced by Nik Bruzzese (Man Overboard) Ace Enders (The Early November) and Dom Maggi (1313) at The Lumberyard Recording, in Hammonton, NJ.

Along with the new release, Pointless currently has four music videos, all shot and engineered by Kurt Fowles of Sirius Cinema and Sirius Coffee Co.

“We have been growing and maturing as a band the same way we do in life every day. Every day we wake up, we try to be better than who we were yesterday. Whether we’re better or not, the effort is definitely there. This is our favorite track we’ve done so far and think it’s our best. We’re very excited to share it with everyone and the writing continues. We’ve been asked what this song means. Though there is definitely a specific meaning to it, it is open-ended to everyone who listens to it. After it becomes its own entity, I don’t think it has one sole meaning. But what I will say is that we just want to be there for people the same way music was there for us.”Justin Monturano (Guitar/ Vocals)

New Mellow Indie Rock Single, Good Riddance from Vacay Nick

New Mellow Indie Rock Single, Good Riddance from Vacay Nick

Indie Rock Artist

“The end of the year brings a time of great reflection. You mull over the highs and the lows and the in-betweens. Indie-rock singer-songwriter Nick Aranda, guitarist of Paper Route (currently on hiatus) and now known professionally as  Vacay Nick , steps back to consider what 2019 has wrought,” American Songwriter‘s Jason Scott wrote. “His new song and video, Good Riddance,‘ is a mellow, easy listening guitar jam that celebrates the good as much as the bad… An overcast mood stands in stark contrast to the colorful chorus of inflatable arm flailing tube men, a playful way of finding a silver lining. Aranda’s voice rises somber and plaintive, and yet his words carry a considerable bite. ‘Things were looking up / But now they’re f*ing done,’ he sings. Imposing grey clouds loom overhead, but like all storms, these too shall pass. ‘Good riddance to the bad times.'”

Filmed and directed by Aranda’s wife, Bree Marie Fish (Dan Auerbach, Josie Dunne) and featuring Paramore‘s Zac Farro on drums, the “Good Riddance” visual and single announced the Nashville-based alt rock act’s forthcoming debut album, Off Days, expected in early 2020.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Aranda is no stranger to the spotlight. Signing his first record deal fresh out of high school, the now 34-year-old has been on the road touring with various bands ever since. With Paper Route, he’s had Billboard-charting singles, music featured in major motion pictures and ad placements, and tour slots alongside Paramore, Imagine Dragons, and Mutemath, to name a few, but 2019 finally found Aranda with enough free time to make the solo record he’s always dreamed of creating. Now, armed with a fitting moniker (quite literally vacationing as Vacay Nick) and his veteran musicianship, he’s ready to send off the past by celebrating the future.

Good Riddance is about that crystallizing moment when you take stock on feelings, like you do at the end of each year, and all the highs and lows sort of flatten into either cheers or curses,” he explains. “It’s not necessarily about forgetting the hard times— there’s usually some good in the bad, and even a ‘good riddance’ is a welcome thing— but it’s about choosing not to let the bitterness of stale dreams, severed bands, or broken hearts influence the future. It’s discovering that ends hold less power than beginnings. So, shed your calloused skin.”

“Good Riddance” available now via SoundCloud ,  Spotify ,  Apple Music ,  Amazon ,  Tidal ,  Deezer, and  Google Play with the accompanying video streaming on YouTube.

Experience the Psychedelic Indie Folk Rock Sounds of String Machine

Experience the Psychedelic Indie Folk Rock Sounds of String Machine

Indie Band

Soaring ethereal rhythms and melodies, and the doomed tenderness of where hope and hopelessness dance among the faded soon-to-be ruins of ill-maintained state highways tearing through rural and post-industrial landscapes. The soil here isn’t as fertile as it once was, but sometimes a collective of voices breaks through the frostline. For those who see no future, the future is wide open.

This is the landscape from which String Machine emerged. Some of their neighbors are farmers, still pulling what they can from the earth, but more often than not selling off parcels of land to developers who bulldoze off the topsoil, name their housing plan Pasture Place or some such insult, and name the streets after the wildflowers that used to grow there.

Those who inhabit these plans live separately from those who live in older, more rural confines. A simple socioeconomic separation. Further along we see the post-industrial wasteland, now operating at a fraction of its capacity, employing contractors and employment agencies and any such measure to ensure they pay the lowest possible wage, avoid providing benefits, and maintain a workforce that can be scrapped as quickly as the barrels of slag stored in the back lot.

There is a city to the south. To get there we drive through this romantic memory of family farms and some distant 1970’s era vision of self-liberation through labor and industry, through towns long since conquered by opiates. For String Machine, the decision was simple: reject this life they inherited, move ahead fearlessly with the lessons each of them has learned among the frozen ruins of rural western Pennsylvania (northern Pittsburgh, PA).

Originally a solo project, David Beck enlisted a number of friends to help him see his vision through. Soon enough those musicians shared his vision, and String Machine grew into a collective, shared project. They released Threads from the Youth Fossil in 2017. A beautiful debut, really, but perhaps it’s best to speak of this album, Death of the Neon, as their collective debut. Their first conscious effort to make an album as a band, it came with a lengthy period of having to discover how to creatively work as a unit of seven people. After a busy stretch of playing countless shows and embarking on mini-tours, they self-isolated into their rural Saxonburg home studio, remaining reclusive until they had an album they were collectively happy with.

Through the strength of seven incredibly talented individuals, Death of the Neon experiments with layers of musicality, emotionality, fragility, and an inimitable ability to render avant-garde imagery into relatable terms. The listener feels empowered, yet invited into the band’s personal vulnerabilities. It would be easy enough to make an attempt at some pointless term of categorization: psychedelic folk, indie rock, post-folk, or if this were the 90s they would probably be dumped into that “alternative” catch-all. But to experience String Machine, either live or on Death of the Neon, is to enter a unique musical world, a world where a wall of sound provides joy while wondering if joy is possible, lays bare the musicians’ wounds while soothing yours, and gives us something synesthetic – these aren’t just songs for your ears; they will resonate throughout your entire body.”

Originally self-released on August 2, 2019, Know Hope Records will re-release “Death of the Neon” on January 17, 2020 and the band will continue to tour in support of the record for the foreseeable future.

Upcoming tour dates w/ Mandancing (Take This To Heart Records):

Melbourne Ska Orchestra Release New Single and National Tour

Melbourne Ska Orchestra Release New Single and National Tour

Orchestra

The beloved Melbourne Ska Orchestra has  unveiled their new single Good Days Bad Days – a showstopper of a track lifted from their most recent album One Year Of Ska – the box set album that just saw them take out the 2019 ARIA Award for Best World Music Album.

To celebrate, the epic 25 piece band have announced a huge national tour, which will see them hitting up metropolitan and regional cities across Australia throughout the early months of 2020.

The group will be kicking things off at the Mullumbimby Civic Hall on February 28, then moving through Brisbane, Maroochydore, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Canberra, Fremantle, Pinjarra (WA), and wrapping up with a massive hometown show at Forum Melbourne on May 1.

Melbourne Ska Orchestra are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the stage. Audiences will be blown away by up to 25 musicians performing at a time, and the joyous, energetic vibe of a Melbourne Ska Orchestra gig is one that must be seen to be believed. Multi-instrumentalist and band leader Nicky Bomba enthuses,

“With so many band members, we’re a bit like a soccer team! Our live shows are a community experience. It’s imperative for us to make a solid unifying connection with our audience. We hold the live performance in high esteem, as it’s an ancient ritual where humans come together celebrating life through the wonder of music. It’s a bit of a spectacle to behold.”

The album One Year Of Ska was an innovative undertaking for the seasoned group. They set themselves the mammoth task of recording one new song per week for an entire year – that’s a lot of ska! The band took on the challenge firstly as a way of embracing the idea of creating content for their fans, and also to mimick the old-school Jamaican practice of releasing new songs on a weekly basis to encourage punters to come to their weekly dancehall gigs. It was an epic task for the Melbourne Ska Orchestra, to say the least, as Nicky Bomba reflects,

“We had to move our studio from country Victoria to a studio in Collingwood to facilitate the whole process. It felt like a NASA mission, working around the clock to create, arrange, record, mix and master in time for each weekly launch, which would happen every Friday morning at 9am.”

The new single Good Days Bad Days is just one of the tracks borne of this intense year of work. Bright, spunky and full of life, it’s everything audiences have come to love about the band. The track reflects on exactly that – the good days and bad days that are all part and parcel of life – with genuine happiness and wisdom, as Nicky says, “The Good Days Bad Days sentiment is universal and it covers all walks of life. The second verse is particularly close to home, as it relates to putting our own gigs on – it’s always a risk, and things can turn on a dime. Life is full of the extremes of the pendulum swing. Finding the balance is the key, eh!”

Showcasing the wild intensity and fun that is Melbourne Ska Orchestra in a live setting, Nicky speaks on the video for the song,

Good Days Bad Days really kicks in with the crowd when we play it live. It’s a universal theme that has almost become colloquial. I love how the film clip captures the raw energy of the live spectacle of the orchestra.”

It’s always nice to be recognised for hard work, and what better acknowledgement is there for a band in Australia than the coveted ARIA Award? Melbourne Ska Orchestra scooped up the well-deserved nod at this year’s ARIAs for Best World Album, a well-respected and competitive category. It’s a meaningful win, as Nicky explains,

“What an honour to have again been presented with the World Music ARIA award. We love the fact that we are flagbearers for the international ska sound here in Australia, and hailing from Melbourne, the multicultural diversity is inspiring. This award is a perfect fit and we are looking forward to sharing our new One Year Of Ska songs with all of our fans.”

The New Rock n’ Roll Lullaby from Names Without Numbers

The New Rock n’ Roll Lullaby from Names Without Numbers

Indie Band

The brand new full-length effort from Names Without Numbers  is out today! (Omaha, NE / Council Bluffs, IA). This band took a long break between their debut in the early part of the last decade but are back with a powerful and incredibly catchy follow up. This high quality in every sense of the word from the production to songwriting and musicality. It’s everything you want a good rock band to sound like and then some. If you’re into bands like Anberlin, Jimmy Eat World, Further Seems Forever, The All American Rejects, The Juliana Theory, Brandtson, Acceptance, Mae, and Eager Seas, then you’re going to fall in love with this new album.

The song The Dragonfly and the Owl is a rock and roll lullaby, written in an attempt to communicate a parent’s love to their child, even though the child may not fully comprehend the depth of that love.

Names Without Numbers is back with a long-overdue second full-length album, Silos & Smokestacks. With the help of longtime friend and producer, Michael King, they’ve taken their guitar-driven indie rock style and blended in plenty of pop sensibility, with melodies you’ll have stuck in your head for days.

R’n’B Infused Pop EP from Chris Jobe Will Have You Hooked

Morning Bells To Release Debut ‘Fall From The Velvet Sky’ EP

RnB Pop Producer Artist

Following his television debut on NBC’s Songland, LA-based songwriter and producer  Chris Jobe  released his inaugural EP, If You Knew How Loved You Are, on Friday.

True to form, the new record covers heavy topics that are made easily palatable by Jobe’s unique brand of R+B-infused pop that earned the album early praise from the likes of  Billboard , Spotify, and Apple Music.

If You Knew How Loved You Are is not a fluffy pop EP, but rather a collection of songs that touch on the struggles, highs, and lows of a modern-day 20-something relationship,” Jobe explains. “The EP is very personal, centering around the two amazing-yet-heavy years that I’ve been with my girlfriend, dealing with addiction in our families, financial struggles as freelancers, and one very tough decision we made while being haggled by some extremely insensitive protesters.”

Jobe, who writes, plays, and produces all of his own music and graphics, released his debut single, ” Thank You Internet ,” in 2017, reaching over 1 million views on Facebook after the platform discovered and promoted the music video for the track. Since then, the Dayton, Ohio-born musician has made a name for himself with his clever visuals, ace musicianship, and heartfelt songs, garnering praise from Earmilk, Ones to Watch, and Euphoria Magazine, among others.

“This EP is the soundtrack to my life in the last year and, as a millennial, I’m not afraid to embrace the not-so-great parts and own it. Life can be hard, but it’s a hell of a lot harder if you try to mask it as something else,” Jobe admits. “I hope that someone reading this, going through tough times, can open up to those they trust and realize that they are loved and understood, too. That’s the true message of If You Knew How Loved You Are.”

If You Knew How Loved You Are is available now via

SoundCloud | Spotify  Apple Music  Amazon  Tidal  Deezer and Google Play.

New Music From Songstress that Thinks Outside the Square Ebony Buckle

New Music From Songstress that Thinks Outside the Square Ebony Buckle

Indie Artist

Ebony Buckle is a London-based singer/songwriter. Hailing from the seaside town of Townsville, Australia, Buckle was encouraged into the entertainment industry by her parents, studying singing, violin, piano and drama and before long she completed a degree in opera singing. Taking listeners on a whimsical leftfield-pop journey with her complex harmonies and imaginative storytelling lyricism, Buckle sings about topics covering everything from romance and broken hearts to disgruntled mermaids, lonely whales and alien invasion.

Realising that the only way to be in true control of her own creativity and express herself authentically was to start her journey as a solo artist, Buckle jumped in head first and has not looked back since. She confides,

“I am a naturally shy person and sometimes find it hard to be myself in front of other people, but music has really helped me connect to my true self. I feel like the songs I write come straight from my brain and they are a true expression of who I am”.

Following the release of her debut single ‘The Mermaids Said No!’, the quirky songstress is introducing her follow-up single entitled ‘Susan’. A track dedicated to her imaginary best friend and alter ego, Susan the Raptor. Mixing elements of whimsy folk, with fanciful pop melodies and infectious lyrics, all baked in to one big Ebony Buckle cake, the delightfully eccentric musician has created a delicious sound, bursting with vibrancy and charm. Emitting a joyous feeling with a hint of melancholy, the track highlights the singer’s operatic trained vocals, which shine brightly throughout. Buckle reveals,

“Susan was born one night after too much prosecco and the name just stuck. She is the carefree, risk-taking and sometimes reckless side of me. I think we are all made up of many different personalities and I just decided to name one of mine! Mostly we wanted to make a really joyful track that would make people smile”.

Reminiscent of Regina Spektor meets Kate Bush, Buckle is inspired by other strong female artists who have forged their own path into the music industry. Aspiring to create music which will help others realise their most authentic self and encouraging people to always take life with a pinch of salt, Buckle confides “I hope it inspires people to be true to who they are. To not be afraid of being different and to know it’s ok to express themselves”.

The singer come actress has performed in West End plays, as well as a BBC drama, where her role as a Geordie folk singer saw her music reach number 1 in the iTunes World Music Charts. She has also received extensive airplay from numerous BBC stations across the nation, as well as garnering blog attention. In the words of The Mind Monster Solution author Hazel Gale, “It’s a rare thing to find music that speaks so directly from (and to) the heart. Wonderful!” Buckle continues to feed our imagination with her beautifully kaleidoscopic music. ‘Susan’ is currently available worldwide.

Daniella Mason assembles star studded girl Gang Music Video

Morning Bells To Release Debut ‘Fall From The Velvet Sky’ EP

Music Video Image

Daniella Mason is woman: hear her roar,” Billboard‘s Glenn Rowley wrote on Friday. “In the clip [for her new video], Mason rallies fellow female artists including Cam, Alanna Royale, Nightbirde and more for a celebration of feminism as they, quite literally, dismantle the patriarchy in the form of a mannequin. ‘I do my dance, I make my plans/ And my own money/ Don’t say I can’t, you know I can/ Don’t call it lucky/ One woman band, that’s who I am/ The way I run it/ ‘Cause I’m woman lover powerful/ Woman lover powerful,’ she declares as her friends cheer her on.”

“I wanted this video to tell the story that I’ve been storing deep in my belly for a long time— the rage and triumph over what society has demanded from me as far back as I can remember. But I didn’t want it to be a lonely tale of an angry woman scorned. I wanted to inject a sense of camaraderie, a sense of diverse thought and emotion, and all the things we are. I wanted to inject my community. Cue: all of my favorite Nashville lady artists joining me in my quest!,” Mason explains. “I wanted this video to elevate all of us and to elevate our community as a whole— not just myself and my vision. They brought their everything and helped me show so many facets of womanhood. We see Cam, beautifully posing in her newly-announced pregnant state; we see Nightbirde, my friend who had breast cancer while we wrote this; and we see my friend and photographer, Jacqueline Day, remove her wig and reveal something she’s kept quiet. Every artist lent me their voice, their heart, and their body. They just brought it all together and helped me tell a story so much bigger than myself. And that’s really the only reason I’m here.”

Co-written by Mason and produced by Super Duper (R.LUM.R) and Robert Marvin (Tove Lo, Kelly Clarkson, Cher Lloyd), “Woman Lover Powerful” marks the first cut from the Nashville-based alt pop artist’s forthcoming EP, Physical State, due out early next year. The new album is a continuation of her highly regarded State of Mine sound series that includes previously released EPs, Mental State and Emotional State.

While Mason is no stranger to pop commerciality, earning millions of streams on Spotify and praise from the likes of The Guardian, V Magazine, and Refinery29, it’s her left-of-center musicianship and distinct powerhouse vocals that afford her credit in tastemaker and alternative spaces alike. Mason’s material is pop for pop’s sake, generating a balance between club banger and emotional gut punch that blurs genre lines to convert fans of all musical sensibilities.

“Woman Lover Powerful” is available now via  YouTube and Vevo with the accompanying track streaming on SoundCloud ,  Spotify , Apple Music , Amazon,  Tidal, Deezer , and  Google Play.

The “Woman Lover Powerful” cast stars  Cam, Alanna Royale, Sinclair, Nightbirde, Robyn Harris, Jamiah , Bantug, Jacqueline Day and Carine Abraham

Morning Bells to release debut ‘Fall From The Velvet Sky’ EP

Morning Bells To Release Debut ‘Fall From The Velvet Sky’ EP

Indie Band

Morning Bells is a five-piece comprised of Bryan Fransman (drums, percussion, vocals), Ric Denton (vocals), Emory Ball (guitars, percussion), Laura Weislo (fretted and fretless basses, vocals, synthesizer), and Peele Wimberley (keyboards, vocals, percussion, guitars).

The music and sonic aesthetic found on this EP are influenced by Johnny Marr of The Smiths, Television, Yo La Tengo, The Gun Club, David Sylvian, Tori Amos and Talk Talk.

“We’re all very proud of this release but, for some of us, it’s our first ever release of a creative effort like this. That’s beyond words in many ways. Being able to say “We made a record” feels like the most impossible dream coming true. We chose these five songs because we think they’re some of our best work, we feel they tell great stories, and that they’re a great snapshot of the full range of emotion and musicianship within all of us as a band,” says Ric Denton.

“The music is a collaborative effort that is often created to fit the mood of the lyrics although, sometimes, the songs have started with the music coming first in a random moment of free-flow during practice, so we seize on it because we know it’s meant to become a song, and the words are born after. The lyrics, however, are all very personal. Every song has been inspired by actual events or people, so you’re hearing stories of a life and how it’s unfolded. To write anything less honest would be obvious to the listener, and we couldn’t be inspired as artists.”

Morning Bells formed when drummer Bryan Fransman returned to music, approaching his long-time friend Ric Denton about singing with him. They were soon joined by Laura Weislo, who had played in bands in college, but stopped when it stopped being fun. Having known Ric since college, it was destined to be…

Emory Ball had also been Laura’s bandmate in several bands, including Bellbats, having recorded with the great Mitch Easter (R.E.M., Ben Folds Five, Pylon, Helium, Pavement, Suzanne Vega, Game Theory, Ken Stringfellow) … The deal was sealed and they had their full lineup.

The four were eventually joined by Peele Wimberley. Formerly a drummer in several other bands (The Veldt, The Connells and Bellbats). Having recently returned from a lengthy stint in Los Angeles, he was wooed by the opportunity to try his hand at keyboards and as a recordist.

As of December 13, ‘Fall From The Velvet Sky’ will be available on CD. The album is already available across digital stores such as iTunes and streaming platforms such as Spotify. It can also be ordered via Bandcamp.

Emo Band Giants Chair New Single Kids Running

Graces Collide with Powerful New Single Ride

Emo Band

Influential 90’s midwestern emo band Giants Chair is back after a 23-year absence. A new album, ‘Prefabylon’ will be released on December 6 via Spartan Records.

A new song titled “Kids Running” is debuting today in partnership with Talkhouse. Check out the track and an essay written by frontman Scott Hobart Below.

Hobart writes: “I don’t know about you, but I can’t sit down with a stack of old VHS tour tapes of my ‘90s post-punk emo rock band GIANTS CHAIR without thinking about my unease with nostalgia. This is a band that hasn’t made a record — scarcely even played — in the last 23 years… but a band that, nevertheless, has somehow found itself with a new record to be released on December 6, 2019. Like one of my early songwriter heroes, Bob Dylan, I don’t want to look back. I don’t want to tempt my mid-life fate getting wistful or woeful about the “good ‘ol tour days.” But I’m sitting here with these tapes whirring in this borrowed TV/VCR combo because, after all these years, this band is desperate to find some footage to help us pull together some kind of music video by the end of this adult work week. So, here I am at 48. Faced, literally, with myself believing in myself and this same old, well… young, ‘90s emo rock band — at 25 years of age, 23 years ago and now. To quote a more-recent songwriting hero, David St. Hubbins, as he considers what his epitaph should be… “And why not?”

Contemporaries and tour mates of bands such as Jimmy Eat World, Boys Life, The Dismemberment Plan, Hoover, Sweep the Leg Johnny, Cap’n Jazz, Shiner, Boilermaker, and more, Giants Chair released a pair of albums on Caulfield Records in the 90’s and were a part of the early emo scene with acts like Boys Life, Shiner, Christie Front Drive, and fellow Kansas City bands such as Molly McGuire and Season to Risk.

Graces Collide with Powerful New Single Ride

Graces Collide with Powerful New Single Ride

Metal Band

Graces Collide are a powerful melodic riff laden rock monster hailing from the heart of Brighton, UK. Graces Collide are made up of the cool and calm Danny Wenham on vocals and lead guitar and the strong and energetic twins Jurgan & Will Hamblin,  playing bass and rhythm guitars.

They’ve spent the last few years performing  up and down the country with the likes of ‘The Rocket Dolls’, ‘Icarus Falls’, ‘Saint Apache’ & ‘Cyanide Sundae’ (to name but a few) and getting a reputable name in the live rock scene as serious ones to watch out for!

During the summer of 2018 Graces Collide enlisted the help of rock producer & ‘River Becomes Ocean’ bassist George Donoghue (River Becomes Ocean/The Rocket Dolls/MASSIVE) and recorded their debut record ‘Our Tomorrow’.

The band also worked with world renowned producer and mixer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon/Don Broco/Lower Than Atlantis) to mix and master the album.

The first single taken from ‘Our Tomorrow’ is the blistering ‘RIDE’ & frontman Danny Wenham says “If you like your killer hard-rock to have more hidden up the sleeve than just plain-old naked aggression, this will be for you…”

... “The track Ride came from the idea of being ground down by someone who feels you are on this earth to serve them and only their needs. The song is about the realisation of that feeling and how you are done.. finished with taking the blame and orders.  Be it a lover or ex lover haha or anyone who you feel doesn’t give you the time or respect we as people deserve… and everything they say is another reason to leave.. or in this case Ride” .

The 10 track “riff-monster” album ‘Our Tomorrow’ is set for release Friday 10th April 2020 and the band will be on tour following the release.

Graces Collide are:

Danny Wenham – Vocals & Lead Guitar

Attic Theory’s Grungy Rock n’ Roll New Single My own Design

Attic Theory’s Grungy Rock n’ Roll New Single My Own Design

Rock Band

FROM THE ASHES OF ‘MATCHSTICKMEN’ AND ‘RAIN MAY FALL’… COMES ‘ATTIC THEORY’
New name, new beginning for the Liverpudlian based rock band.
Matchstickmen, who released their second album ‘From Our Own Ashes’ (via Holier Than Thou Records) decided it was time to change their name and give themselves a fresh start.
Remaining members of Matchstickmen, Lewis Wright and Peter Donnelly are joined by guitarist Tim Cunningham (Rain May Fall), Kenny McArthur on bass and Matt Simon (Limehawk/Guns N’ Roses Tribute – Guns2 Roses) on drums.
The band continue their musical journey as ATTIC THEORY.
The new line-up will perform their self-proclaimed genre of Alternative Groove Rock. Heavy hitters in the local scene, Attic Theory are as grungy as one can be without losing the rock ‘n’ roll charm.
The inspiration behind the name Attic Theory was taken from an episode of Elementary – a CBS television series based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes detective stories with contemporary twists. It stars Jonny Lee Miller as Holmes and Lucy Liu as Watson.
Vocalist Lewis Wright explains, “In an episode of the show, Sherlock states that the human brain is like an attic. A storage space for facts. But because that space is finite, it must be filled only with the things you need to be the best version of yourself. We thought this was fitting with everything that was going on and decided it was time to leave the past in the past – New name, new beginning”.
Since forming in 2017, the band have performed a selection of high profile support slots for The Soapgirls, Saving Abel, Psycho Village, Tragedy, Derange, Elvana and Seattle legends Candlebox and have performed at Rock N’ Roll Marathons, Biker Festivals and horror and tattoo Conventions across the country.
Attic Theory toured with Elvana (Elvis fronted Nirvana) at a variety of O2 Academy venues and are about to hit the road with American Rockers, Tantric across the UK and Europe.
All members of Attic Theory have earned themselves an array of prominent gigs over the years, opening for acts such as Electric Six, The Quireboys, Graham Bonnet, INME, Taking Dawn, Uli Jon Roth, The Alarm, Skin, The Trews, Supersuckers, Crowbar, Diamondhead to name a few and have graced the same festival stages as Reverend and the Makers, The Real Thing, John Power, Dodgy, John Head and Toploader plus many more.
Following the release of their debut single ‘Saints Among Us’, which has over 20,000 streams on Spotify alone, Liverpool based Alternative Groove-Rock band, Attic Theory are back with their second single ‘My Own Design’!
To make the new single a reality, Attic Theory enrolled the help of their fans and held a Facebook fundraiser.
The band asked ‘Theorists’, the name the band has given to their fans, to help them raise the funds to record the single. Lead vocalist Lew Wright commented “We were overwhelmed and humbled by the donations that we received, especially when one of the ‘Theorists’ that donated was Kev Martin from Candlebox! Kev is one of my favourite singers of all time! We are so thankful to him and every ‘Theorist’ that donated and made the new single possible”.
Produced by Loïc Gaillard and recorded at one of the most in demand recording studios in Liverpool, The Motor Museum.
‘My Own Design’ is Attic Theory’s second single but is the first track released with new drummer Matt Simon. Matt was a long serving member of Limehawk and Guns N’ Roses Tribute, Guns 2 Roses. Matt commented “Within weeks of me joining Attic Theory, we were booked into the studio to record the ballsy rock single ‘My Own Design’… I immediately knew this band meant business!”
Lewis says: ”‘My Own Design’ is inspired by a breakdown in communication within a relationship and the realisation that both parties, have become people they don’t even recognise in the mirror anymore, and should not be together. Lyrically, I wanted to mix things up a bit so I made a few alterations to the original subject matter. In ”my version“ of events, one person has come to their senses and has realised they have become a slave of their own making… a slave of their own design… and the other, is hosting their very own pity party and hasn’t grasped that the relationship is over.”

Multi-Talented 19 Year Old SongStress Breana Raquel Releases Q&A

Singer & Actress Breana Raquel

19-year-old songstress Breana Raquel returns with the release of ‘Q&A’, a catchy slice of sizzling R&B, setting the young songwriter in a league of her own. Having built a loyal online following over the last year, which currently stands at over 30,000 followers on Instagram and over 10,000 on TikTok, Breana is making huge waves right now, making ‘Q&A’ her biggest release to date.

Best known for her guest-star role on Criminal Minds, as well as her recurring role on CBS’ Seal Team, Breana Raquel is an actress that is taking over televisions around the US. The multi-talented star is taking advantage of every opportunity that comes her way and her success has not gone unnoticed.

The Maryland native has been quietly building an organic buzz with golden R&B sensibilities over the last year, with the release of her debut EP ‘Beginners Love’ back in February.

When asked about the new single, Breana stated:

I wanted to release a song that was closer to the style of music I listen to now. I wrote a lot of the tracks on my EP when I was 16/17, and I wanted to introduce everyone to the 19-year-old Breana Raquel.”

The tracks addictive melody and catchy lyrics definitely warrants a repeat. With this being Breana’s second release, the singer-songwriter proves she’s only setting up to scale greater heights.

Sienna Wild Release Exhilarating Gritty Single You Wouldn’t Know

Sienna Wild Release Exhilarating Gritty Single You Wouldn’t Know

Indie Rock Band

Indie rockers on the rise, Melbourne’s Sienna Wild have  announced their exhilarating, gritty new single You Wouldn’t Know, a track that places the listener in a strange and unsettling situation between two lovers. The group have also released a killer lyric video to accompany the track.  To celebrate all things You Wouldn’t Know, Sienna Wild is heading out on a national tour in January 2020, kicking off at Frankie’s Pizza in Sydney on January 2, then moving through Adelaide, Brisbane, and wrapping up with a hometown show in Melbourne at The Tote on January 31.

For fans of Catfish and the Bottlemen, Eskimo Joe and Arctic Monkeys, You Wouldn’t Know is an absolute firecracker of a song.  Soaring guitars reign, while searing, affecting vocals ride atop the arrangement with strength and power.  You Wouldn’t Know is pretty much everything a modern rock fan could want in a track, and is guaranteed to get you pushing your way through the dancefloor to bust a move.  Speaking on the interesting inspiration behind the track, bass guitarist and vocalist Louis Goutos enthuses, “The sentiment behind the single came from me setting myself a challenge of writing from the perspective of a third party in a break up.  Up to that point, our writing had been about power within a relationship, whether it be during good times or bad.  This time,  I wanted to write a song about an outsider who becomes involved in a break up, as opposed to the two protagonists telling the story.  It is essentially about a girl telling her boyfriend’s best friend she’s going to leave her man, but the boyfriend is too oblivious to realise.  Hence, he ‘wouldn’t know’, but the friend does!”

Sienna Wild are thrilled to be taking You Wouldn’t Know on the road, and it’s pretty clear why once you hit play on this track – it’s definitely one for a hot, sweaty, summer gig.  Giving fans a taste of what to expect from their 2020 tour, Louis says, “Fans can expect a tight rock performance full of swirling guitars, crashing choruses and compelling dynamics.  You’ll see a band who have conviction and believe what they say, and mean what they do.  A good time for all!”

As fans of music from the very beginning, Sienna Wild are a passionate group of young musicians who are excited to share this stunning new track with the world.  Reflecting on the formation of Sienna Wild, Louis says,
“Fortunately, I came from a musical family and there were always instruments around so I just started playing things and learning by listening.  I started off with the piano, then the drums, until finally the bass called, and that was when I found my voice (so to speak).  I found like-minded musicians and spirits in the guys from Sienna Wild, and haven’t looked back ever since.  Also none of us are opposed to a few beers and a good time… I reckon listeners should get around Sienna Wild now, before someone else gets there first! You might just be the one to say ‘I told you so’”

Sienna Wild is Louis Goutos (bass and vocals), Jonathan Giokas (lead guitar) Lewis Ciavarella (rhythm guitar and backing vocals) and Lucas Manitta (drums).
