Hipster Conspiracy Comes In Full Force With Debut Album Dysphoria

Indie Music

Hipster Conspiracy comes in full force with her debut LP Dysphoria. With the incorporation of her masterful musical technique and urban styled vocals, this magnificent tracklist boasts a whole lot of talent. Each instrument is gradually plugged in throughout the 1 songs on the album, subtly adding layers that prove to be highly appealing with each listen being different. The songs perfectly captures the emotions and pain of Hipster Conspiracy’s struggle towards accepting her transgender identity, with mental issues, substance abuse and  depression being part of her daily life during those years.

It feels like the album was so natural to create for Hipster Conspiracy, as it represents so well every aspect of her journey. Dysphoria captures the difficulty of being a transgender artist, even in 2020, and we cannot but support such a talent courageously sharing her story so that others don’t have to suffer the same pain in their lives. Be sure to keep an eye out for this Dark-Hip-Hop powerhouse’s next release.

Kameelah Waheed Sublime Fusion of Jazz Orientated Hip Hop New Music

Female Fronted Rock Queens, High Grass Smashing New Single, Tonight

Ramrock Red Records are incredibly excited to present Kameelah Waheed – straight outta New Jersey. Brought to their attention by London DJ/promoter, Barry King, Kameelah immediately delighted them with her direct, no messin’ delivery, compelling, earworm hooks and beautifully crafted lyrics.

Teaming up with Kelly Murray on co-production on the ‘Original Version’, Kameelah unleashes a stripped back, jazzy hip-hop vibe punctuated with a Donald Byrd’ish trumpet riff. The North Street gang take the Donald Byrd flavour a step further with a full on nod to the Mizzell Brothers in the first North Street West dusty funk production.

Released digitally  April 24th as a five track EP with a further 7” vinyl release around May/June, ‘Holding On’ is set to tick a lot of musical heads boxes.

Growing up in an Islamic household, sneaking snippets of worldly music into her household was close to pulling off a major heist during Kameelah’s teenage years.

Kameelah was introduced to the world of sound from MTV, rap and house music and the live bands of the 80’s courtesy of her older sister, along with tribal and island music that her mother played. Kameelah was encouraged to consider song writing as a career option when she received an opportunity to write for Bunny Sigler of Philadelphia International Records.

Heading up the hip-hop rock band band, Gov’t Cheaze in 2000, Kameelah performed at Philadelphia’s Black Lily Film Festival as well as a set at the very first Roots Picnic. Previous releases have included ‘Traveling’ by Kameelah Waheed & GC, produced by Larry Gold, featured on the ‘Beat Generation Compilation’ released on BBE, making the Top 10 Most Played on UK urban radio stations. In 2011,

Kameelah Waheed and Government Cheaze signed with indie label, Philly Through My Ear (PTME) founded by Will Smith Sr. The self-titled CD can be found on iTunes

Cannon’s Conversations is Perfect Concoction of Organic Meets Digital

Cannon’s Conversations is Perfect Concoction of Organic Meets Digital

Cannon is a 21-year-old independent artist from South Carolina who blends strong hip/hop and R&B influences with an organic sound he developed at open mic nights with an old acoustic guitar.

“Conversations” is about ignoring our personal issues for the sake of feeling like we don’t have them. It’s easier to turn to quick tricks to feel better or ignore feeling bad entirely than to really consider and engage with how we feel. There’s a really important difference between talking and having a conversation, whether it’s with ourselves or with others—and this song is emphasizing that difference. It’s easy to talk, but it’s hard to really engage with something enough to actually have a conversation. “Conversations” shows someone not engaging — they tell themselves they’re trying but they’re not really. They’re lying

Montreal-based Hip-Hop artist Gotti Banxx just premiered his much anticipated debut album Very Special a couple of days ago, co-executively produced by fellow Montreal producer Kizzy, who has been working with Gotti Banxx since 2013. However, Gotti also worked with a handful of other producers, which allowed him to diversify his sound on this major project..

This trendy collection of 7 songs sees the rising artist at his very best, delivering his smooth and soothing vibes made of auto-tuned vocals and hard-hitting 808.

After “Santana”, “Famous,” “Sometimes,” “Premium Snapchat,” and “RNB Party,” Very Special is the latest contribution to Hip-Hop by the emerging Canadian artist, and will probably set fire to the Hip-Hop/R&B scene worldwide thanks to its incredible tracklist and production.

Have a listen for yourself to Very Special, and make sure to support Gotti Banxx in his quest for the perfect sound and lyrics.

ICON the GREAT was formed when Zac Barnett (American Authors) teamed up with long time collaborator and best friend Evan Ambrose (Blacktop Queen) to try and create something raw, pure, and most importantly fun. “We both came in with clean slates of our musical pasts and laid down what felt natural and exciting. We crushed a case of Miller Lite’s, talked, hit record and let what happen happen,” Evan recalls.

The result is ICON the GREAT’s first single “Back For More – Tripper Remix”, a ferocious emotional unloading about how nothing matters but you and the people you hold close. “Everything we create is the two of us and that’s it.” says Zac. “We write it, produce it, make the artwork, get our friends to help with videos and pictures, and if you want to come along for the ride then be our guest.”

With a sound reminiscent of nostalgic 90s rap rock infused with modern alternative and underground SoundCloud hip hop, ICON the GREAT is here to prove that genres and expectations are a thing of the past. “The best part about music in today’s climate is the line between genres is dissolving quicker than ever. ICON the GREAT is here for everyone to let their demons out no matter where you’re from.”

Dallas Hip Hop Pop-R&B Artist Jboz Releases Debut Studio EP

Hip Hop Artist

Hip hop/pop/r&b artist Jboz will be releasing his first studio-arranged EP titled, “Away from the City”. Through this body of work, Jboz shows what it feels like to be heartbroken and to long for someone you love so much. Jboz is pouring his heart out to a girl that he is feeling detached from. It often leads him to question everything…and through these times he becomes more sure that the time is now to get this off his chest. Everyone needs someone or something to rely on throughout life’s journey. It is important to express your needs and be vulnerable enough to let the world know.

Music has been the outlet for Jboz to create material that are reflections of his life. It has been the main source of communicating, how he gets through hardships. Jboz talks through all of his feelings for his significant other, and every way that he expresses that to her. He combines the symmetry of good and bad, to show the duality of himself.

New Hip Hop Music from Australian Mr Big Stuff

New Hip Hop Music from Australian Mr Big Stuff

Hip Hop Indie Artist

Exciting newcomer Mr Big Stuff  has today announced his brilliant, hooky debut single I Need Space, featuring synthpop auteurs Strange Talk, out November 1.  Mr Big Stuff, otherwise known as Gregory Truman, has also announced a quirky and fun video clip to accompany the track, created in collaboration with Lionel Towers (Gypsy & The Cat) and Andrew Mortlock (Cookin’ on 3 Burners, The Griswolds).  I Need Space is a witty, poppy introduction to this up and coming Australian hip hop artist.

I Need Space is a great example of a satisfying and exciting cross-section of pop and hiphop, and it’s impressive to see an artist debut with such a strong, established sound and aesthetic.  Cool and collected, Mr Big Stuff’s brilliant lyricism floats cleverly atop a bed of rolling percussion and smooth synths.  Strange Talk is the perfect artist to join in on I Need Space, and as the track leans into the chorus, you’ll be hard-pressed to get the vocal hook out of your head.

I Need Space was inspired by a break up close to my family.  I was at the studio writing and I got a call from one of the people involved in the breakup.  We got talking and as I was holding back tears, they said to me I just need my space,” explains Mr Big Stuff, “I was in a bit of a sad mood, not knowing what to do – so I walked back into the studio, and 5 minutes later I Need Space was born.”

The clip for I Need Space travels far and wide, as the scene jumps from a surrealist library, to a vast desert landscape, to apocalyptic carpark, to an infinite galaxy.  The colourful, psychedelic clip is a feast for the eyes, and, juxtaposed against the melancholy theme of the lyrics, presents a vibrant reflection of a relationship that has just ended.  It’s fun, it’s strange, and it’s a must-watch, as Mr Big Space explains,

Originally we had a space theme idea and then we kind of went for an idea of space overall – as in, the landscape of space and being transported to different worlds.  I had just gotten back from overseas when the idea for the clip was formed,  and within a week we had set up filming locations, props, outfits, etc.  It was a lot of work by the whole team and I’m very grateful to quality of the content that was produced.”

Mr Big Stuff is a new face on the scene, but it won’t stay that way for long, as an EP is already in the works for the charming hip hop artist.  Music and dance has been a passion for Mr Big Stuff  since childhood, as he sweetly enthuses,

“I love to live life to the fullest.  I was in a bad state, mentally and health-wise, for a while there, but now I have a new zest on life.  I used to hide away because of my size, but now I embrace it! I got into making music through dancing, and the love and feeling that music gave me.  I’m filled with joy to be able to finally come out from the shadows and show the world what has always been inside of me.”

Baddest hip Hop Rapper FVN Releases New Music

Rapper

Female rapper FVN teams up with her favourite producer DJ John Vincent. Together they have created the City Girl/Saweetie-inspired banger ‘Baddest’.

FVN is also, as the first artist ever, featured on Fallulah’s first single from her new project, which will be released in the nearest feature.

FVN’s own release, ‘Baddest’, starts out with an intro in Danish, which deals with the criticism she has received in a short period of time. ‘Baddest’ is therefor a cocky and provocative clap back to; all the haters who continuously tells her to act and behave a certain way and to people who always ask her “do you write your own lyrics?” – as if a female rapper isn’t capable of writing her own punchlines?

The official music video for the track is produced by Dose Sampu and will be released short after the release of the single.

The video is a crazy mash up of flashy footage in where FVN proudly radiate a bad bitch attitude in the style of Missy Elliott and Lil Kim.
