New Music with Pulsating Electro Beats with Like a Feather

Marc Häfner ft Kintsuku – Like a Feather

New Single from Powerhouse Vocalist Jacqine, It’s Never Been About Us

Some music suits itself better to certain times and places than others. Chilled out beats are better for studying than prog rock and techno is better for a workout than jazz. “Like a Feather” by Marc Häfner ft Kintsuku is music perfectly designed for lazy Sunday afternoons with drinks and friends.

Starting with a steady, electronic pulse and beats, “Like a Feather” reveals its true beauty when Kintsuku’s ethereal vocals are added to the mix. What starts out as a chilled mid-tempo groove is transformed into a track that is both haunting and beautiful. The “B-Side”, “After the Rain Comes Sun” is a slightly more tense affair. Creeping synths and filtered break beats establish the musical palette before the addition of Kintsuku’s delightful vocals. While more suited to the dance floor than “Like a Feather”, this is also a solid offering that simply ramps up elements evident in the title track.

As the days get longer and warmer here in the southern hemisphere, I am sure there will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy this track in just the right environment. Available on September 24 through DeepDownDirty, I would recommend adding “Like a Feather” to your summertime playlist as well.

Fly, Shine & Stream New Electro-Rap Song From President Of Pop

Single Cover

President Of Pop, or POP as he calls himself followed up on his debut single and anti social media manifesto titled “Google-ized by Google’s Eyes, (The No Internet Song).” His new track is called ‘Fly/Shy’

As the press release explains: ‘Fly/Shine,’ is an artistic act reminding everyone to listen to their heart, and the power they can access and feel when doing so. The President of POP points out the importance of listening to our inner voice, believing and chasing our dreams, rather than thinking we are losers. This empowering song sustains the momentum initiated by the previously released one against social media, “Google-ized by Google’s Eyes, (The No Internet Song),” two intelligent and honest songs that expose the listener to their own reality and habits.

Clearly, POP is on a mission to raise awareness on important topics through his music. To make his statement noticeable, he uses very unique tunes while composing his tracks. ‘Fly/Shine’ includes his sharp rap flow, synth, and subtle pads he pulls out on the beat, intensifying the mood and the message alongside it. ‘Fly/Shine’ is interesting from the point of overall aesthetics – for some the song might be too loud, too busy, and too overdone, but we find it somewhat consistent. As we dive deep into his lyrics, we can hear the balance between sounds, and get the hint that all of the chaos was created intentionally. Good work!

Fused Release Another Slice Of Synth-Pop Magic

EDM

Fused – Never Let Me Go

Fused (aka Mark Kendrick) is well known to supporters of independent, electronic music. Hailing from England, Fused makes a brand of synthpop heavily influenced by fellow UK artists Depeche Mode and Gary Numan and characterized by superb production values.

“Never Let Me Go” is the eighth single from Fused – a mix of a track previously featured on the “V2” compilation album. Backed by two remixes (the Capitol Mix and the Beat Box Mix) and a further track, “Countdown Red”, “Never Let Me Down” sees Fused produce yet another slice of modern synthpop magic. Whilst the sounds harken back to the eighties, the production values place it firmly in the present. The sounds are big, the chorus is anthemic and an underlying darkness adds layers to the track that invite you to listen again.

I may be a little biased here (Mark remixed a track of mine last year), but I am genuinely impressed. This is music for music lovers – a pop song with gravitas. Available now for purchase digitally and on limited edition CD, “Never Let Me Go” is a must listen for all fans of electronic music.

Never Let Me Down First Class Indie Pop Single from Pyramid Park

Indie Pop Artist

Singer-songwriter-producer Pyramid Park makes his return with his masterful new single ‘Never Let Me Down’.

Encompassing an indie-pop sound, Pyramid Park delivers a relatable story of the pressures and confusion of growing up, pulling inspiration from Two Door Cinema Club, Foals and Jack Garratt.

Pyramid Park, also known as Pete McAllen, kick started his music career at the age of 15, after the loss of his father. This sudden loss helped carve McAllen’s music career. Making music and writing songs made him feel close to his father again, so he decided to help other people with their struggles by putting everything into his art.

Speaking on the track Pyramid Park stated:

‘Never Let Me Down’ was written in January 2018. I was determined to get my act together, and hit the ground running, with three months of intense songwriting. I had a heart to heart about music, fears and dreams.  I had recently taken the plunge to work full time as an indie artist.  I felt vulnerable and unsure, so we began to pen the lyrics ‘I think I’m drifting between the head and the heart…’ an honest summary of my mindset.

Having toured the UK, Germany, and The Netherlands, on that back of the debut album ‘Vulnerability’ and bagging 30 festival slots in the last two years, Pyramid Park is set to release his second album ‘Not an Island’ in April 2020.

‘Never Let Me Down’ is available on all streaming platforms.

Cabinet Of Millionaires VS Zion Train

“Stop The Coup”

The British election is scheduled for the 12 December and it is fair to say that it will take place in a Britain that has suffered under the yoke of an austerity politics that has seen inequality increase and where the issue of Brexit has polarized the population. Into this space step Cabinet of Millionaires vs Zion Train and their “Stop The Coup” EP.

The politics of this track are clear – Boris Johnson is the clear villain and Cabinet of Millionaires launch a scathing attack on the current PM’s Conservative Party government, referencing the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the failure to take in enough refugees (whilst selling arms), and the dismantling of the country’s National Health Service.

Whilst this pull-no-punches political attack may sound unappealing to some listeners, what sells this track is the musicality and production. The original “Pfeffel Mix” is an exercise in dub-infused, slick electro with a soulful vocal that asks to “tell you about Boris”, interspersed with samples calling out the problems of Johnson’s policies. The second, “Darcus meets Acid House Therapy remix” takes the track and adds dubstep and acid elements, while the final, Mikk Stupp Remix, is a beefed-up drum and bass workout (and my personal favourite).

Whilst this track may not win over those who will follow the populist Johnson no matter what (a one-eyed devotion that is also shown by Trumpists on the other side of the Atlantic), it should nonetheless serve as a rallying call to those who may currently be prevaricating. Due for release on December 6 through Chocolate Fireguard Records, this is a timely track indeed.
