SET TO THRILL AUS
WITH NINE COLOSSAL SHOWS IN 2021

Music Festival

After the blockbuster success of the inaugural festival in Queensland pre-covid, Empire Touring is elated to announce Spring Loaded is back and larger than ever, declaring a triumphant return to live music with nine festival dates set to rock around Australia in a bid to pay homage to some of the country’s most beloved festivals gone by including Big Day Out and Homebake. With a colossal lineup dripping in 90s Aussie alt rock nostalgia, 2021’s shows boast a haul of the decade’s most celebrated acts, including Grinspoon, You Am I, Regurgitator, Jebediah, Magic Dirt, Frenzal Rhomb, Custard, The Fauves, The Meanies, Tumbleweed, Screamfeeder, Caligula and MC Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall.

Set to kick off in Sydney On The Lawn at Royal Randwick on May 8, the massive festival will then head up to Cairns, before moving on to Sandstone Point Hotel Bribie Island, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Darwin Amphitheatre, Gosford Entertainment Grounds, Stuart Park Wollongong, Red Hill Auditorium in Perth and will wrap in Victoria on November 27.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday March 24 at 10am local time.

Thrilled to be on the bill, You Am I’s Tim Roger’s explains, “It’s kinda unavoidable that nostalgia surrounds these shows, but the past year I’ve heard new music from most of our friends here that is as vital and visceral as any they’ve done in the past, which makes these potential shows all the more thrilling.” Not one to mince words, Rogers goes on to offer some solid tips for punters, ordering,“Dress up, turn up, muck up!”

Stoked at the opportunity to get the band back together after what was a long 2020 for everyone the world over, Grinspoon’s Phil Jamieson says, I’m terribly excited to be playin’ with Grinspoon at Spring Loaded. Since FireFight we have barely stepped onto stage, let alone seen each other.”

The man who masterminded this bodacious opportunity for us all to relive our youth and celebrate the return of live music, Empire’s Marc Christowski says, “Having been at various Big Day Outs and Homebakes over the years, it is a massive buzz for us to produce Spring Loaded. Bringing together such an amazing lineup that will go to every corner of the country, flying the flag of indie rock is a dream come true.”

Covering all bases, the festival will be bustling with craft beer and an enviable collection of the locale’s cherry-picked food trucks.  Spring Loaded is a fully licensed 18+ event, strictly no BYO food or alcohol.  The shows are outdoor concerts and will go ahead rain, hail or shine.  No tables, tents, sun shelters or umbrellas are permitted, punters are urged to bring ponchos/raincoats and gumboots if rain is forecast.  Picnic rugs and low camp chairs are permitted, as are sealed bottles of water, and there will be water refill stations. And this killer event will be taken indoors to Adelaide – expect all the festival vibes with no weather issues.

After an unprecedented write off for live music in 2020, don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the return of the festival and the greatest era of the indie alt rock scene in Australia, and come and relive the soundtrack of your youth live at Spring Loaded in 2021.

Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday March 24 at 10am local time, with a presale offered to Telstra customers from Thursday March 18 at 10am local time to Sunday March 21 at 10pm AEDT.  There will be a My Ticketek and Oztix presale from Monday March 22 at 10am local time.  VIP tickets will be available for the Just Ace Place VIP Bar offering a premium viewing area, exclusive VIP entry, private bar and food area.

The Spring Loaded festival dates will be held with a commitment to a COVID Safe environment.  Festival organisers will work closely with and comply with all requirements of the public health authorities in respect of these shows. If any shows are required to be postponed, a postponement date will be announced and punters will be eligible for a full refund if they are unable to make the new date.

Paul Moleta Releases New Alternative Rock Single, ‘Hey Young Soul’

Icon The Great is Back For More with Tripper Remix

Single cover

Hey Young Soul’ is the latest single to come from Australian singer songwriter Paul Moleta. Inspired by his time spent in a rehabilitation centre following lower spinal surgeries, ‘Hey Young Soul’ is imbued with positive energy, a real cheery summer tune. Talking about the song himself, Paul Moleta explains…

I wrote the song to remind myself and other Rehabilitators and families that love, persistence and a positive mindset will help us conquer the challenges each day presents us with.

With its upbeat and summery sound, ‘Hey Young Soul’ marches us towards a stranger and happier mindset, a sentiment that has become increasingly important in our daily lives.

Growing up in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne, Paul began writing songs at an early age inspired to become a singer-songwriter. Blending alternative pop rock melodies with thoughtful and introspective lyrics,

Paul Moleta has used his music as a driving force to follow his dreams. Paul relocated to Ireland in 2017 where he fulfilled his dream of recording in Windmill Studios where he recorded his recent single ‘Hypnotised’ which has amassed nearly 20,000 streams on Spotify. Whilst living in Ireland he played major Irish festivals such as Electric Picnic, before moving back to Australia to continue pursuing music.

Alternative Rock Three Piece Seven Spies Release Debut Single

Alternative Rock Three Piece Seven Spies Release Debut Single

Formed in London by childhood friends, Seven Spies are a three-piece band looking to infiltrate the ears of the world. Consisting of David Blomiley (vocals, guitar, piano), Olly Brown (drums, backing vocals) and an ever-rotating bassist taking form of old band members and musical friends, you can expect to witness a healthy dose of melodic riffs and anthemic choruses.

Seven Spies fuses the best of rock bands such as Muse and Radiohead, while highlighting vocals reminiscent of Jeff Buckley and Bjork. Billie Eilish’s use of intimate multi-tracking also makes an appearance throughout their music, along with the big riffs and fuzzy guitars of Rage Against the Machine and Jack White. This amalgam of diverse artists and influences, allows Seven Spies to carve out a pocket of sound that is entirely their own.

Their highly anticipated debut single “Chameleon” narrates the different faces, personas and behaviour we put on to negotiate our daily lives in different situations and the pressure people place on themselves to hide their struggles and internal demons to the outside world. Sonically the chorus shows a defiance against these pressures, external and internal, saying in the end they won’t overwhelm or control who or how we want to be. Blomiley confides, “The subject of the songs seems to be stuff that has been bubbling away inside of me for a while that I need to get out. I find song writing massively therapeutic in a way.”

Self-produced by Blomiley and Brown in their bedroom studio and mastered by John Davis (The Killers, Lana del Rey, Royal Blood, Lewis Capaldi, Gorillaz) at Metropolis Studios, “Chameleon” delivers an intimate, yet polished result. Featuring gritty, raucous guitars, tenacious melodies and textured harmonies, showcasing Blomiley’s impressive vocals, “Chameleon” is an energetic release, bursting with both conviction and charisma.

With the hope their music may connect with listeners, allowing them to make their own relationship and associations, regardless of the intention or creation, Seven Spies are unleashing their explosive sound.

Dead Reynolds New Music Release With Alt Rock Soul

We All Go Down As Sirens Fall with New Alt Rock Single

Indie Rock Band

The band were formed from the embers of Phoenix Calling & with notable high profile additions including The First’s Ben Knowles to bring you truly relevant and catchy alt-rock. They’ve just celebrated their first year together with this new single.

Latest single Souls was released on October 31st

Souls is a different sound for Dead Reynolds and sees a collaboration with Producer Jack Murphy of Crystal Sounds Studio, Norfolk and front man of Youth Killed it.    “Working with Jack has been great, he brings out the best in us and the track, often taking it to a different place” acknowledges guitarist Dom Greenwood
The sound of the band has developed since working with Jack and is more driven with more hooks and riffs. A favourite to play live. “The track is a mix of alternative rock with riffs and breakdowns but also brings in an edge towards pop-punk with a catchy chorus and melodies aimed at staying in people’s heads” adds Luke Reid
The original idea was carved out on an acoustic guitar by Dom and then shaped as it is by the band and played live before recording with Jack and adding in the drive and layers to the song.
The song is about feeling isolated, looking over your shoulder and needing to find yourself again. Having to look in the mirror to find any kind of fortitude as everyone around is passing you by. The feeling of being invisible is a common theme. Not giving someone a chance and having regrets is a feature of the track with the subject asking if there is anyone there as they can’t see or feel anyone. Souls marks a more upbeat, driven and determined sound for the band which translates perfectly into the vibrant and electric live show they deliver.

The band’s debut single ‘Dust’ was premiered on Scuzz TV while their 2nd release ‘Pieces’ was play listed for 6 weeks on Kerrang! Radio, the track has now been rolled out worldwide and gaining airplay on multiple platforms of BBC Introducing, commercial radio stations and much more.
In recent months Dead Reynolds has made huge strides with the release of debut EP ’Souls’ and an accompanying sell-out tour which included headline shows and main support slots with Deaf Havana and Mallory Knox.
The band are currently in the studio recording their 2nd EP and head out early in 2020 for a headline uk tour.

We All Go Down As Sirens Fall with New Alt Rock Single

We All Go Down As Sirens Fall with New Alt Rock Single

Indie Pop Band

An eye-catching alt-rock outfit based in West Yorkshire, England, known for their bombastic live shows and die-hard fanbase. Proudly genre-defiant, the ‘aggressive pop’ group have self-released two EPs, 2016’s ‘The Hospital Party’ and 2018’s ‘Where Lost Things Go’, the latter of which debuted at 43 on the iTunes Alternative Albums Chart. The band’s latest single, ‘We Go Down Together’ was released on November 8th 2019 and is supported by their most ambitious, cinematic video yet.

All music to date produced by Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Bullet For My Valentine), with support from a host of outlets including Kerrang! Radio, Rock Sound and BBC Introducing. They have spent the time since their first release supporting countless touring artists, heading out on a number of their own UK tours, a headline European tour, and making appearances at festivals like Download, Bingley Music Live, Whitby Goth Weekend and Camden Rocks.

The band currently consists of Mikey Lord (vocals), Adam Doveston (guitar), Jason Doveston (bass) and Bailey Roper (drums).
On the single Mikey Lord says: ‘We Go Down Together feels like the perfect song for us to come back with. It feels like it’s been forever, and it feels important that whatever we put out now feels like we are unleashing something a little dangerous into the world. It’s different enough to excite us and to get the fans perked up, but it’s also kind of the ultimate ‘As Sirens Fall’ song. I wanted to make people move and feel in a way we hadn’t before and I sincerely hope we’ve achieved that here. This is a song for the weirdos. It’s a song for the people who have tried to fit in and who feel like they didn’t succeed in fitting in.     Be you and be a mystery. Be hard to pin down. Don’t pigeonhole yourself. Be whatever you want to be and do whatever you want to do. Love with everything you have and never let them take you alive. I really hope people can find something to get their teeth stuck into with this and that they pull some positive messages from it. I know I have.’

The band head out on a full UK tour with Sumo Cyco and Suburban:

Nov 24th – The Joiners, Southampton
Nov 25th – The Globe, Cardiff
Nov 26th – The Exchange, Bristol
Nov 27th – Rebellion, Manchester

Dec 1st – The Key Club, Leeds
Dec 2nd – The Classic Grand, Glasgow
